Last week, the American Academy of Dermatology hosted its 76th Annual Meeting in San Diego, California. Dermatologists from all over the world were in attendance to learn about cutting-edge developments, new research, hot topics, treatment pearls, and emerging science in the field of dermatology. Each year, the attendance continues to increase with more than 18,800 attendees this year alone. Exhibitors are also a major part of the AAD annual meeting as they provide valuable resources to carry out such a successful conference. Over 400 exhibitors showcased their products and services ranging from skin care cosmeceutical products and injectables to state-of-the-art lasers and electronic medical records.
The Annual AAD Conference draws in more interest than any other conference in the field of dermatology. This reflects the commitment of the AAD to its members. The conference provides invaluable continuing education, networking opportunities, and practice tools that are vital to our specialty. During this 5 day meeting, topics ranged from ground-breaking treatment options for patients suffering from atopic dermatitis to treatment guidelines for various skin cancers.
Each year, the AAD continues to impress and has taken a strong stance in healthcare advocacy on Capitol Hill. As the landscape continues to change in our specialty, the AAD strategically evolves like a snowball rolling down a hill. As dermatologists, we continue to navigate this unfamiliar terrain and are committed to representing our patients and our specialty in a professional and ethical manner.
